Intermediate/Combative Handgun
This course is designed to build upon the fundamentals of our Basic Pistol and Handgun Safety Course, for real world applications of combative handgun shooting.
Topics covered in this course are:
-Drawing from and shooting from the holster
-Reloading techniques
-Immediate and remedial action for malfunctions
-Speed drills
-Practical/Tactical Marksmanship
-Mindset
-Transitional Space
-Getting off the “X”
-Shoot/ No Shoot scenario drills
In this course you can expect to shoot between 300-500 rounds in various shooting drills and at various ranges.
Gear requirements:
-Eye and Ear protection (preferably electronic hearing protection)
-Shirt with a collar (no low cut or V-neck shirts)
-Pants
-Close toed shoes
-Handgun (with at least 3 magazines if shooting a semi-automatic or 2 speed loader for a revolver)
-Belt
-Holster
-Magazine/Speed loader pouches
-400 rounds of ammunition (In the caliber of your handgun)
This course requires a certain level of proficiency with your handgun, if you have taken our Basic Pistol Course or can otherwise prove your proficiency when asked to do so, that will be adequate.
